by the way

I am creating a medal for Knit 'n Lit. Title? Most Inspirational Blog (for link, see right sidebar). Jenn is a serious KNITTER. I am impressed, awed and ready to emulate (well, to a very slight degree).

What does this mean? I will soon be knitting: We Call Them Pirates (plus mittens), Saartje's Booties, and perhaps the Central Park Hoodie someday...

I promise that I won't turn into some freaky Single White Female person (besides, I'm yellow).

AND, I'm nearly finished with a new pair of socks. Wow, some actual knitting under my belt this fall.

sad and bad

one of these days, I'm going to have to put my foot down and actually make or draw something. ANYTHING! I don't think that I've ever experienced an artistic lull this deep. It's like a fathomless lake. Yes, that's dramatic, but I think that drama is actually a step in the right direction.

today I am reading blogs for inspiration.

have you ever seen theresa duncan's blog? of course, I'm not hip, cool, with it or otherwise on top of ANY trends in popular culture, so I learned of this site only after her death, but she is inspiring (at least in her profiglicy): http://theresalduncan.typepad.com/

OK, I stopped being a bum and took a minute to create something. Here is the beginning of my mouse-pad crest...I'll refine it once I actually get a pencil in hand (i.e. when I'm not at work, sneaking blog time into the day). I'm not sure what else I'd like to include in the crest.

trying to get back into the hang of drawing is hard. it's discouraging as well. hard and discouraging and I have a hard time believing that it was so natural to me at one point in my life. c'est la vie, I suppose.
